The City of Waterloo (the “City”) is seeking proposals from consulting firms to update key sections of the City’s Urban Design Manual (the “UDM”). More specifically, to prepare the following two companion documents:

• Waterloo Built Form Standards (the “BFS”)
• Waterloo Urban Design Standards (the “UDS”)

The purpose of these two companion documents is to provide urban design direction and guidance to planning applications, and to assess, promote and fulfill the intent of the built form and urban design related policies in the City’s Official Plan and the built form performance standards in the City’s Zoning By-law, all of which play a fundamental role in shaping our growing city and neighbourhoods.
